Eisa

On June 13th, 2007, Okinawa City instituted the “Eisa Town Declaration” with a view to revitalizing the local area and promoting the healthy development of the youth through Eisa and the inheritance of Eisa culture. Appropriate to the musical character of Okinawa City, the text of the declaration is in the form of song lyrics. Moreover, Eisa Town Okinawa City's mascots, “Eibo” and “Sachan” were created. The Eibo character appears on license plates for motorbikes under 125cc and the two characters appear in bronze fashion as monuments beside the Goya Crossing in the heart of the city.
