Higashi Youth Association
The men's hand dance is powerful as it flows with the rhythms of the large taiko and the roped taiko drums. The women's hand dance, with bamboo castanets and paper fans, is contrastingly graceful and feminine. Together, they provide a combination that enthralls. Based on the dance style of the Nakahara settlement in old Misato Village, the group has added their own elements in a process of trial and error while preserving the charm of the original.
